At Vanguard Collegiate of Indianapolis, our scholars’ academic dreams, and those of their families, are our mission. Our test scores speak volumes to our unapologetic focus on academics for our fifth to eighth grade students.
2018-2019 was our first year in operation as a public charter middle school serving grades 5-8. Vanguard Collegiate of Indianapolis is proud to share our scores. They reflect ILEARN, the Indiana Learning Evaluation Assessment Readiness Network’s measures:
- Higher than the IPS School District
- Higher than all standalone middle schools in the IPS District
- Higher than all neighboring Innovation Network Schools
- Higher than all but one school in the 46222 ZIP code

We create scholars by setting a high bar for educational fluency and leadership. Measurements such as these from iLEARN allow us to track our extraordinary individualized academic successes and build on our rigorous curriculum and top-quality instruction in meaningful ways.

Our Vanguard model is different from a traditional public middle school model because it includes:

- daily tutoring to support academic growth

- expanded time in ELA and Math
- college prep for every student
As a thoughtfully designed school, we adapt to the changing needs of our middle school scholars. We bring to light realistic and successful pathways to college, career and life beyond today. By eighth grade, some of our scholars are even earning high school credit.
